Important: These Terms and Conditions govern your use of the TrioGoals mobile application and web service. By accessing or using our Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you disagree with any part of these terms, then you may not access the Service.
1. Definitions
For the purposes of these Terms:
- "Account" means a unique account created for you to access our Service
- "Application" refers to TrioGoals, the software program provided by the Company
- "Company" (referred to as either "the Company", "we", "us" or "our") refers to TrioGoals
- "Content" refers to content such as text, images, or other information that can be posted, uploaded, linked to or otherwise made available
- "Device" means any device that can access the Service such as a computer, cellphone, or digital tablet
- "Goal" means the tasks, objectives, or targets you create and track through our Service
- "Partner" or "Accountability Partner" means individuals you invite to receive notifications about your goal progress
- "Premium Features" means paid functionality requiring an active subscription
- "Service" refers to the Application, website, and related services
- "User-Generated Content" means any content you create, upload, or share through the Service
2. Acceptance of Terms
By creating an account or using our Service, you confirm that:
- You are at least 13 years old
- You have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms
- If you are between 13–18, you have parental or guardian consent
- You will comply with all applicable laws and regulations
Your continued use of the Service constitutes acceptance of any modifications to these Terms.
3. Account Registration and Security
Account Creation
- You must provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration
- You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials
- You must immediately notify us of any unauthorized use of your account
- We reserve the right to refuse service or terminate accounts at our discretion
- You may sign in using email/password, Google Sign-In, or Apple Sign-In
Account Restrictions
- One person may only maintain one account
- Sharing accounts is prohibited
- You are responsible for all activities under your account
Account Deletion
- You may permanently delete your account at any time from the app's settings
- Deletion removes your profile, goals, and personal data from our systems in accordance with our Privacy Policy
- Deletion is irreversible; data cannot be recovered after deletion is completed
4. License to Use
Grant of License
We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the Service for personal, non-commercial purposes in accordance with these Terms.
License Restrictions
You may not:
- Copy, modify, or distribute the Application or any part thereof
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the Application
- Create derivative works based on the Service
- Use the Service for commercial purposes without our written consent
- Remove or alter any proprietary notices or labels
5. Acceptable Use Policy
Permitted Uses
You may use our Service to:
- Create and track personal goals (daily, weekly, long-term, and intraday)
- Invite accountability partners
- Receive motivational quotes and goal reminders
- Access premium features with a valid subscription
- Delete your personal data at any time
Prohibited Activities
You agree not to:
- Violate any laws or regulations
- Infringe on intellectual property rights
- Harass, abuse, or harm other users
- Upload malicious code, viruses, or harmful content
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems
- Use automated tools to access the Service without permission
- Impersonate others or provide false information
- Spam or send unsolicited communications through our platform
- Interfere with the proper functioning of the Service
- Collect user information without consent
- Add accountability partners without their knowledge or consent
6. Goal Tracking and Accountability Partners
Goal Data
- You retain ownership of your goal data and personal information
- We may use aggregated, anonymized data for service improvement; we do not use your goal content to train AI models
- You can delete your goals and data at any time
- Goals may be daily, weekly, long-term, or intraday (recurring throughout a single day)
- Recurring goals automatically create the next cycle when you complete the current one
- You may archive goals to preserve history without them counting toward your active goal limit
- On the free plan, up to 3 active (non-archived) goals are permitted at any time
Accountability Partners
- By adding partners, you consent to sharing your name and goal completion status with them
- Partners will receive email notifications when you complete a goal
- Partners must verify their email address before receiving notifications
- Partners can unsubscribe from notifications at any time via the unsubscribe link in emails
- You are responsible for obtaining consent before adding someone as a partner
- Partner limits apply based on your subscription tier (see Section 7)
- Monthly email invitation quotas apply and reset each calendar month
- We are not responsible for partner communications or relationships
7. Premium Subscriptions and Payments

Premium Monthly
- Unlimited active goals
- Up to 10 accountability partners
- Up to 200 partner email invitations per month

Premium Yearly
- Unlimited active goals
- Up to 15 accountability partners
- Up to 500 partner email invitations per month
- All Premium features at a discounted annual rate
Payment Terms
- All fees are charged in advance and are non-refundable except as required by law
- Failed payments may result in service suspension
- Mobile subscriptions (iOS and Android) are processed by Apple App Store and Google Play Store via RevenueCat
- Desktop and web purchases are processed via Stripe
Auto-Renewal Disclosure
TrioGoals subscriptions are auto-renewing. By subscribing you agree to the following:
- Your subscription will automatically renew at the end of each billing period at the same price unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the renewal date
- Your payment method will be charged within 24 hours prior to the start of each renewal period
- Subscription price may change; we will notify you in advance and, where required by law, obtain your consent before any increase takes effect
- To cancel on iOS: open Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions → TrioGoals → Cancel
- To cancel on Android: open Google Play Store → Subscriptions → TrioGoals → Cancel
- Cancelling stops future charges but does not end access until the current period expires
Cancellation and Refunds
- You may cancel your subscription at any time through your device's app store
- Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period
- No refunds for partial periods except as required by applicable law
- Refund requests for iOS must be submitted to Apple; for Android, to Google Play
- Upon cancellation, you lose access to Premium features but retain basic Free plan functionality
- Goals exceeding the Free plan limit will be retained but inaccessible until your active goal count falls back within the free limit
8. Notifications
Local Notifications (On-Device)
TrioGoals sends notifications directly to your device to help you stay on track:
- Goal Reminders: Scheduled at your chosen time for daily, weekly, and intraday goals. On iOS, reminders use Time Sensitive priority to bypass Focus Mode and Notification Summary.
- Motivational Quotes: Pre-scheduled inspirational messages delivered throughout your goal's active period (up to 14 days ahead for daily goals, 6 weeks for weekly goals, and 5 days for intraday goals).
- Intraday Reminders: Hourly nudges during your specified active window for goals that repeat throughout the day.
You can enable or disable reminders and quotes per goal in the app settings. You can also disable all notifications through your device's system settings at any time.
Email Notifications (to Accountability Partners)
- When you complete a goal, your verified accountability partners receive an email notification
- When you add a partner, they receive an email verification link
- Email sending is subject to monthly quota limits based on your subscription tier
- Partners can unsubscribe from all emails at any time
9. Intellectual Property Rights
Our Content
- The Service, including its design, code, text, graphics, and functionality, is owned by TrioGoals
- Our trademarks, logos, and brand elements are protected intellectual property
- You may not use our intellectual property without written permission
User Content
- You retain ownership of content you create or upload
- By using the Service, you grant us a limited license to use your content solely to provide the Service
- You warrant that your content does not infringe on third-party rights
- We may remove content that violates these Terms or applicable laws
10. Privacy and Data Protection
Your privacy is important to us. Our Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information. By using the Service, you consent to our data practices as described in our Privacy Policy.
Key data we collect includes your name, email address, goal data, notification preferences, and device information. We do not sell your personal data to third parties.
Your Privacy Rights
Depending on where you reside, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:
- Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
- Correction: Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data
- Deletion: Request deletion of your personal data (you may also delete your account directly in the app)
- Portability: Request your data in a machine-readable format
- Restriction: Request that we limit how we process your data
- Opt-Out of Sharing: California residents may opt out of the sharing of personal information for cross-context behavioural advertising by contacting us at support@triogoals.com
California Residents (CCPA/CPRA)
If you are a California resident, you have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA), including the right to know what personal information we collect, the right to delete your personal information, and the right to opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information. We do not sell your personal information. To exercise your rights, contact us at support@triogoals.com. We honour Global Privacy Control (GPC) browser signals as a valid opt-out of sharing for web users.
US State Privacy Laws
Users in states including (but not limited to) Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, Texas, Utah, Indiana, Kentucky, Delaware, Maryland, Minnesota, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New Jersey, Tennessee, and Rhode Island have rights under their respective state privacy laws, including the right to access, correct, delete, and obtain a copy of their personal data, and in some states, the right to opt out of targeted advertising. We do not engage in targeted advertising or sell personal data. To exercise your rights, contact support@triogoals.com. We respond to verifiable consumer requests within 45 days.
European Residents (GDPR)
If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA) or United Kingdom, you have rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), including the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict processing of, and port your personal data, as well as the right to object to processing. To exercise these rights, contact us at support@triogoals.com. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
11. Third-Party Services
Our Service integrates with third-party providers:
- Authentication: Google Sign-In and Apple Sign-In
- Database & Backend: Google Firebase (Firestore, Cloud Functions, Firebase Authentication)
- Crash Reporting & Analytics: Firebase Crashlytics and Firebase Analytics
- Bot & Fraud Protection: Firebase App Check
- Mobile Subscription Management: RevenueCat (processes iOS and Android in-app purchases via Apple App Store and Google Play Store; collects purchase history data as disclosed in our App Store privacy label)
- Desktop/Web Payment Processing: Stripe
- Email Delivery: SendGrid for transactional and notification emails
- Local Notifications: iOS User Notifications framework and Android notification system
Each third-party provider operates under its own terms of service and privacy policy. We are not responsible for third-party services' availability, functionality, or data practices.
12. Service Availability
- We aim to provide the Service continuously but do not guarantee uninterrupted availability
- Scheduled maintenance, updates, or circumstances beyond our control may cause temporary interruptions
- We will endeavour to notify users of planned downtime in advance where possible
- We are not liable for losses resulting from service interruptions
- Features may be modified, suspended, or discontinued at any time with reasonable notice
13. Disclaimers and Warranties
Service Disclaimer
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND. WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING:
- MERCHANTABILITY AND FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE
- NON-INFRINGEMENT OF THIRD-PARTY RIGHTS
- ACCURACY, RELIABILITY, OR COMPLETENESS OF CONTENT
- UNINTERRUPTED OR ERROR-FREE OPERATION
TrioGoals is a productivity tool. We make no representation that using the Service will guarantee achievement of your goals.
14. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW:
Exclusion of Damages
WE SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING:
- Lost profits or data
- Business interruption
- Personal injury or property damage
- Third-party actions or content
- Missed notifications or reminders due to device settings, OS restrictions, or connectivity issues
Limitation of Total Liability
Our total liability for all claims relating to the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or $100, whichever is greater.
15. Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless TrioGoals and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any claims, damages, obligations, losses, liabilities, costs, or debt, and expenses (including attorney's fees) arising from:
- Your use of the Service in violation of these Terms
- Your violation of any third-party right, including intellectual property or privacy rights
- Any content you submit, post, or transmit through the Service
- Your violation of any applicable laws or regulations
- Unauthorized use of another user's account with your credentials
16. Termination
Termination by You
- You may terminate your account at any time through account settings
- Termination does not relieve you of obligations incurred before termination
- We will delete your data according to our Privacy Policy
Termination by Us
We may suspend or terminate your account immediately if you:
- Violate these Terms or our policies
- Engage in fraudulent or illegal activities
- Cause harm to other users or our Service
- Fail to pay required fees
Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (including intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability, and dispute resolution) will continue to apply.
17. Age Restrictions and Parental Consent
- The Service is not directed at children under 13 (16 in the EU/EEA/UK). Users must be at least 13 years old to create an account
- Users between 13–18 require parental or guardian consent to use the Service
- We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we discover an account belongs to a child under 13, we will immediately suspend and delete it
- If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal data, contact us immediately at support@triogoals.com and we will promptly delete it within 48 hours
- Under the updated COPPA Rule (effective April 22, 2026), we require opt-in parental consent before sharing any data relating to users under 13 with any third party. We retain data of verified minor accounts for no more than 90 days after account closure
- We comply with Apple's Declared Age Range API and Google's Play Age Signals API to support platform-level parental consent flows where required by applicable law
- Where state law requires age verification or additional parental consent (including Texas, Utah, Louisiana, California, and other states), we will implement appropriate verification measures
18. Geographic Restrictions
The Service is operated from the United States. We make no representation that the Service is appropriate or available in all locations. Accessing the Service from territories where its content is illegal is prohibited. You are responsible for compliance with local laws in your jurisdiction.
19. Dispute Resolution
Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of California, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles. The arbitration agreement in this section is governed by the Federal Arbitration Act.
Dispute Resolution Process
- Informal Resolution: Before filing any claim, contact us at support@triogoals.com for good-faith resolution. We will attempt to resolve the dispute within 30 days of receipt. This step is a prerequisite to arbitration.
- Arbitration: If informal resolution fails, disputes will be settled through binding individual arbitration under JAMS Consumer Arbitration Rules (current version) administered in California. The arbitrator's award is final and may be entered in any court of competent jurisdiction.
Arbitration Opt-Out
You may opt out of the arbitration agreement by sending written notice to legal@triogoals.com within 30 days of first accepting these Terms. Your opt-out notice must include your name, email address, and a clear statement that you elect to opt out of arbitration. If you opt out, disputes will be resolved in the courts of California.
Batch Arbitration
If 25 or more substantially similar claims are filed concurrently, JAMS may consolidate them into batches of up to 50 claims per batch, processed sequentially. Each batch will be treated as a single arbitration proceeding for fee and scheduling purposes. This provision does not limit your right to file an individual claim.
Carve-Outs from Arbitration
The following are excluded from arbitration and may be brought in court: (a) claims to enforce intellectual property rights; (b) requests for emergency or temporary injunctive relief to prevent imminent harm; (c) claims within the jurisdiction of small claims courts.
Class Action Waiver
You agree to resolve disputes individually and waive the right to participate in class actions, collective actions, or representative proceedings. If a court finds this waiver unenforceable, that waiver clause alone will be severed and the remainder of the arbitration agreement will survive and remain in full force.
20. Force Majeure
We shall not be liable for any failure or delay in performance under these Terms due to circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to acts of God, natural disasters, war, terrorism, civil unrest, government action, pandemic, internet or telecommunications failures, or third-party service outages. In such events, we will make reasonable efforts to restore the Service as soon as practicable.
21. EU Digital Services Act (DSA)
For users in the European Union, we comply with the Digital Services Act (Regulation (EU) 2022/2065):
- Single point of contact: support@triogoals.com for all DSA enquiries including content moderation appeals and authority requests.
- Illegal content reporting: Report illegal or abusive content (including partner email misuse) to support@triogoals.com. We will investigate and respond within 72 hours.
- No algorithmic recommendation: TrioGoals does not use recommender systems that rank, amplify, or filter user content based on profiling. Goal display order is controlled entirely by you.
- Transparency: We do not run paid advertising within the Service, and we do not target users based on their personal data for commercial advertising.
22. AI and Data Training
We do not use your personal data to train artificial intelligence or machine learning models. Your goals, preferences, and usage patterns are processed solely to operate the Service. No automated decision-making that produces legal or similarly significant effects is applied to any user. The motivational quote rotation system uses a deterministic scheduling algorithm, not machine learning.
This disclosure applies to residents of all US states, including Connecticut, and complies with the EU AI Act transparency requirements.
23. General Provisions
Entire Agreement
These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and TrioGoals regarding your use of the Service and supersede all prior agreements.
Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision will be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions will continue in full force.
Waiver
Our failure to enforce any right or provision of these Terms does not constitute a waiver of that right or provision.
Assignment
You may not assign or transfer your rights under these Terms without our prior written consent. We may assign our rights and obligations without restriction.
Changes to These Terms
We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify users of material changes via email or in-app notice. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
